InPoint Commercial Real Estate Income, Inc. invests in a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate (CRE) investments. The company primarily holds CRE debt, which includes mostly floating-rate first mortgage loans and subordinate mortgage and mezzanine loans. It may also invest in participations in loans secured by CRE, floating-rate CRE securities like CMBS, senior unsecured debt of publicly traded real estate investment trusts (REITs), and specific equity investments in single-tenant, net-leased properties. The majority of its business operations are conducted through InPoint REIT Operating Partnership, LP, a Delaware limited partnership, where the company is the sole general partner and holds all limited partner interests. InPoint Commercial Real Estate Income, Inc. has chosen to be taxed as a REIT for U.S. federal income tax purposes. The company is externally managed by an Advisor, which is an indirect subsidiary of Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation (IREIC), its sponsor and a member of Inland. The Advisor coordinates daily operations and is responsible for originating, acquiring, and managing the company's CRE investment portfolio, under the supervision of its board of directors. The Advisor acts as a fiduciary under an amended and restated advisory agreement dated July 1, 2021.
