Installed Building Products, Inc. (IBP) primarily installs insulation for residential and commercial builders across the continental United States. The company also serves as a diversified installer of complementary building products, including waterproofing, fire-stopping, fireproofing, garage doors, rain gutters, window blinds, shower doors, closet shelving, and mirrors. IBP offers these services through a national network of approximately 250 branch locations, covering all 48 continental states and the District of Columbia. In addition to installation, IBP operates regional distribution centers serving the Midwest, Mountain West, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The company also runs multiple cellulose manufacturing facilities. IBP was formed as a Delaware corporation on October 28, 2011, building on a business that started in 1977 with a single location in Columbus, Ohio. Since the late 1990s, IBP has pursued an acquisition strategy, completing and integrating over 200 acquisitions since 1999. This strategy has enabled the company to become one of the nation's largest installers of insulation in the residential new construction market, achieving significant scale and diversifying its product offerings. IBP's operations are structured into three segments: Installation, Distribution, and Manufacturing. The Installation operating segment accounts for the majority of the company's net revenue and gross profit and is its sole reportable segment.
