HomeTrust Bank is a bank holding company and financial holding company that operates primarily through its subsidiary, the Bank. As of December 31, 2025, the Company reported consolidated total assets of $4.5 billion, total deposits of $3.7 billion, and stockholders' equity of $600.7 million. The Bank, a North Carolina state-chartered bank, was originally formed in 1926 and is headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina. The Bank's operations have expanded beyond its historical Asheville market. Between 1996 and 2011, it merged with six established banks located in Tryon, Shelby, Eden, Lexington, and Cherryville, North Carolina. Since 2013, the Bank has entered eight growth markets through acquisitions and new office openings, and expanded its product lines. These include the acquisition of BankGreenville Financial Corporation (one office in Greenville, South Carolina) in July 2013, Jefferson Bancshares, Inc. (nine offices across East Tennessee) in May 2014, and Bank of Commerce (one office in Charlotte, North Carolina) in July 2014. Additionally, it acquired 10 Bank of America Branch Offices (nine in southwest Virginia, one in Eden, North Carolina) in November 2014. The Bank also opened a Commercial LPO in Roanoke, Virginia, in July 2014, and another in Raleigh, North Carolina, in November 2014, which was later converted into a full-service branch in April 2017. The Company also acquired United Financial of North Carolina, Inc.
