We are a commercial-stage biotechnology company focused on developing and selling therapeutic innovations to improve medical care for patients. Our approach to drug discovery and development has resulted in a portfolio of products for acute care and oncology patients. Our acute care product portfolio includes ZYNRELEF, a dual-acting local anesthetic. ZYNRELEF combines bupivacaine and a low dose of meloxicam. The FDA classified ZYNRELEF as an extended-release product, noting that Phase 3 studies showed it significantly reduced pain and increased the proportion of patients needing no opioids for the first 72 hours after surgery, compared to bupivacaine solution. ZYNRELEF received initial FDA approval in May 2021, and U.S. commercial sales began in July 2021. The FDA expanded ZYNRELEF's indication in December 2021 and January 2024. It is approved for adults for postsurgical pain relief for up to 72 hours after soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures, including foot and ankle, and other orthopedic procedures where direct exposure to articular cartilage is avoided. In September 2024, the FDA approved the ZYNRELEF Vial Access Needle ("VAN"), which is replacing the current vented vial spike. Through March 31, 2025, ZYNRELEF was reimbursed outside the surgical bundle payment in the Hospital Outpatient Department ("HOPD") setting via pass-through status from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"). Effective April 1, 2025, ZYNRELEF is reimbursed through the Non-Opioids Prevent Addiction in the Nation ("NOPAIN") Act, which directs CMS to provide separate Medicare reimbursement for non-opioid pain treatments used in hospital outpatient departments or ambulatory surgical centers.
