Helmerich & Payne, Inc. provides performance-driven drilling solutions and technologies to make hydrocarbon recovery safer and more economical for oil and gas exploration and production companies. The company focuses primarily on the drilling segment of the oil and gas production value chain. Its technology services develop, promote, and commercialize technologies designed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of drilling operations, as well as wellbore quality and placement. On January 16, 2025, Helmerich & Payne, Inc. completed its acquisition of KCA Deutag International Limited for approximately $2.0 billion. This included a share purchase price of $0.9 billion and $1.1 billion used to repay or redeem KCA Deutag's existing debt. KCA Deutag is a global drilling company with significant revenues and cash flow from its land operations. It has a substantial land drilling presence in the Middle East, with additional operations in South America, Europe, and Northern Africa. KCA Deutag also has asset-light offshore management contract operations in the North Sea, Angola, Azerbaijan, and Canada, where it provides services to customer-owned drilling rigs on customer platforms. KCA Deutag's BENTEC™ business unit, formerly Kenera, comprises manufacturing and engineering operations with four facilities serving the energy industry. Subsequent to September 30, 2025, the Kenera business unit was rebranded to BENTEC™.
