Hanover Bancorp, Inc. is the holding company for Hanover Community Bank, a New York chartered community commercial bank. The Company reincorporated from New York to Maryland on June 25, 2025. Hanover Community Bank provides personalized and efficient services and products to customers in the New York metro area. It operates offices in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), and New York (Manhattan) Counties in New York, and in Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey. The Bank opened its Hauppauge Business Banking Center in Hauppauge, Suffolk County, New York in May 2023, and a full-service branch in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County, New York in June 2025. As of December 31, 2025, Hanover Community Bank had total assets of $2.38 billion, total loans of $2.00 billion, total deposits of $2.03 billion, and total stockholders' equity of $200.3 million. The Bank was established in 2009, initially serving the South Asian community in Nassau County. Following a recapitalization in 2012, the Bank shifted its strategy to offer consumer and commercial banking services to clients in the western Long Island markets and New York City boroughs, specifically Queens and Brooklyn. This strategy has led to significant balance sheet growth through organic loan and deposit expansion, as well as strategic acquisitions. In 2019, the Bank acquired Chinatown Federal Savings Bank (CFSB), which helped diversify its funding and increase its presence in the New York City market, where a significant portion of its lending activities occur.
