The company collaborates with Gilead on filgotinib, a product for which it has assumed all development, manufacturing, and commercialization rights in Europe. This transition was completed by the end of 2022, making the company the sole entity responsible for commercializing filgotinib in Europe. The company also became the marketing authorization holder for Jyseleca in the European Economic Area and Great Britain. Until December 31, 2021, the company shared equally with Gilead in the net profit and net losses of filgotinib in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. As of January 1, 2022, all commercial activities and economics for filgotinib in Europe transferred to the company. Starting in 2024, the company will pay tiered royalties of 8% to 15% of net sales in Europe to Gilead. Gilead retains commercial rights and remains the marketing authorization holder for filgotinib outside of Europe, including in Japan. Since January 1, 2021, the company has been responsible for development costs for specific filgotinib studies, including DARWIN3, FINCH4, FILOSOPHY, and Phase 4 studies and registries in RA, MANTA and MANTA-RAy, PENGUIN1 and 2 and EQUATOR2 studies in PsA, SEALION1 and 2 studies in AS, and the HUMBOLDT study in uveitis, along with other related clinical and non-clinical expenses.
