Genesis Energy, L.P. is a growth-oriented master limited partnership formed in Delaware in 1996, operating in the midstream segment of the crude oil and natural gas industry. The company provides integrated services such as transportation, storage, sulfur removal, blending, terminaling, and processing to crude oil and natural gas producers, refiners, and industrial and commercial enterprises. Its operations are primarily located in the Gulf of America and the Gulf Coast region of the United States. Genesis Energy’s assets include pipelines, offshore hub and junction platforms, refinery-related plants, storage tanks, terminals, railcars, rail unloading facilities, barges and other vessels, and trucks. Prior to February 28, 2025, the company also operated a trona and trona-based business in Wyoming. In the first quarter of 2025, this Alkali Business was sold, leading to a reorganization of operating segments. The sulfur services business, previously reported with the Alkali Business, is now part of the onshore transportation and services segment. Genesis Energy now manages its businesses through three reportable segments: Offshore pipeline transportation, which handles crude oil and natural gas transportation and processing in the Gulf of America; Marine transportation, providing waterborne transportation of petroleum products (primarily fuel oil, asphalt, and other heavy refined products) and crude oil throughout North America; and Onshore transportation and services, which includes terminaling, blending, storing, and marketing crude oil, transporting crude oil and refined products, and processing high sulfur gas streams for refineries to remove sulfur.
