Greene County Bancorp, Inc. operates as the federally chartered holding company of the Bank of Greene County, a federally chartered savings bank. The company was organized in December 1998 to act as the holding company for the Bank of Greene County, formerly Greene County Savings Bank. In 2001, Greene County Bancorp, Inc. converted its charter from a Delaware corporation to a federal corporation. Effective July 2011, its regulation was transferred to the Federal Reserve Board under the Dodd-Frank Act.
