For over forty-three years, the company has provided products, service, and support to customers. The company is a supplier and innovator in several product areas: software-driven products and services for simulating and monitoring the physiological effects of flight, including high-performance jet tactical flight simulation, upset recovery and spatial disorientation, and both suborbital and orbital commercial human spaceflight; altitude (hypobaric) chambers; the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator ("ADMS"); steam and gas sterilizers; testing and simulation devices for the automotive industry; and hyperbaric (100% oxygen) chambers. For fiscal 2012, the company changed its reporting segments to Aerospace Solutions ("Aerospace") and Commercial/Industrial Systems ("CIS"). This change reflects how the company manages its business and approaches its markets. The altitude chamber business moved from the former Control Systems Group ("CSG") into Aerospace because these chambers are primarily used for hypoxia training and are marketed with other Aerospace products. The remaining products from the former CSG are marketed to commercial and industrial customers, forming the CIS segment. Fiscal 2011 segment financial information has been restated to reflect this change. The company operates in two business segments: Aerospace and CIS. The Aerospace segment designs, manufactures, and sells: (1) software-driven products and services, collectively called Aircrew Training Systems ("ATS"), used to create and monitor the physiological effects of flight, including high-performance jet tactical flight simulation, upset recovery and spatial disorientation, and both suborbital and orbital commercial human spaceflight; (2) altitude (hypobaric) chambers; and (3) ADMS. This segment also provides integrated logistics support for customers purchasing these products.
