Edgewell Personal Care Company manufactures and markets personal care products globally. The company operates in approximately 20 countries, with products available in more than 50 countries across its Wet Shave, Sun and Skin Care, and Feminine Care segments. Incorporated in Missouri on September 23, 1999, Edgewell became an independent publicly-owned company on April 1, 2000, after being distributed to shareholders of Ralston Purina Company. The company expanded through acquisitions, starting in 2003 with the Schick-Wilkinson Sword business (SWS) from Pfizer, Inc., which was then the world's second-largest manufacturer of men's and women's wet shave products. SWS has over 100 years of history in the shaving products industry. Edgewell's wet shave portfolio includes men's systems like Hydro® and Quattro®, women's systems such as Hydro Silk®, Quattro for Women®, Intuition®, and Silk Effects® Plus, and disposables including Hydro, Quattro, Xtreme 3®, Slim Twin®, Slim Triple®, Skintimate, and Extra3™. In 2007, Edgewell acquired Playtex Products, Inc., adding brands like Playtex® feminine care products, Wet Ones® pre-moistened wipes, and Banana Boat® and Hawaiian Tropic® sun care products. Further expanding its wet shave portfolio, the company acquired the Edge® and Skintimate® shave preparation brands from S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. in 2009. In 2010, Edgewell acquired American Safety Razor, LLC (ASR), a global manufacturer of private label and value wet shaving razors, blades, and specialty blades.
