EnerSys is a world leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes energy systems solutions, motive power batteries, specialty batteries, battery chargers, power equipment, battery accessories, and outdoor equipment enclosure solutions to customers worldwide. Energy Systems, which combine power conversion, power distribution, energy storage, and enclosures, are used in the telecommunication, broadband, data center, and utility industries, uninterruptible power supplies, and numerous applications requiring stored energy solutions. Motive Power batteries and chargers are utilized in electric forklifts, automated guided vehicles ("AGVs"), and other industrial electric powered vehicles. Specialty batteries are used in aerospace and defense applications, large over-the-road trucks, premium automotive, portable power solutions for soldiers in the field, medical, and security systems applications. New Ventures provides energy storage and management systems for demand charge reduction, utility back-up power, and dynamic fast charging for electric vehicles. The company operates through four operating segments: Energy Systems, Motive Power, Specialty, and New Ventures. The Energy Systems segment includes uninterruptible power systems ("UPS") applications for computer and computer-controlled systems, telecommunications systems, switchgear and electrical control systems used in industrial facilities and electric utilities, large-scale energy storage, and energy pipelines. Energy Systems also includes highly integrated power solutions and services to broadband, telecom, data center, and industrial customers, as well as thermally managed cabinets and enclosures for electronic equipment and batteries. The Motive Power segment provides power for electric industrial forklifts, AGVs, other material handling equipment used in manufacturing and warehousing operations, and equipment used in floor care, mining, rail, and airport ground support applications.
