Electra Battery Materials Corporation is in the business of battery materials refining and the acquisition and exploration of resource properties. The company refines materials from mining operations and from the recycling of battery scrap and end-of-life batteries. Electra aims to build a diversified portfolio of assets focused on the battery supply chain, primarily in North America, to provide a North American supply of battery materials. The company was incorporated on July 13, 2011, under the name Patrone Gold Corp. and became a reporting issuer in British Columbia and Alberta on October 2, 2012. It changed its name to Aurgent Gold Corp. on October 3, 2013, then to Aurgent Resource Corp. on March 11, 2014, and to First Cobalt Corp. on September 22, 2016. Shareholders approved a continuation under the Canada Business Corporations Act on October 26, 2017, which was implemented on September 4, 2018. The company changed its name to Electra Battery Materials Corporation on December 6, 2021. On April 13, 2022, the company completed a share capital consolidation on the basis of one (1) post-Consolidation Common Share for every eighteen (18) pre-Consolidation Common Shares. On December 31, 2024, the company completed a reverse stock split at a ratio of one (1) post-Reverse Split Common Share for four (4) pre-Reverse Split Common Shares.
