Ellington Financial Inc., through its subsidiary, Ellington Financial Operating Partnership LLC, acquires and manages various financial assets in the United States. The Longbridge segment specializes in offering reverse mortgage loans, including associated financial assets, financing, hedging, and allocated expenses. Ellington Financial Inc. was incorporated in 2007, is headquartered in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, and qualifies as a real estate investment trust (REIT) for federal income tax purposes, intending to distribute at least 90% of its taxable income as dividends to shareholders.
