AdvisorShares is an actively managed exchange-traded fund (ETF) that aims to achieve its investment objective by gaining short exposure to the investment returns of the broad U.S. large-capitalization equity market. It accomplishes this through short sales of U.S.-traded equity securities and ETFs. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in investments that create or result in short exposure to U.S. equity securities.
