Daily Journal Corporation publishes newspapers and websites covering news in California and Arizona, and produces specialized information publications. The company also acts as a newspaper representative for public notice advertising, referred to as its "Traditional Business." Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Journal Technologies, Inc., provides case management software systems and related products to courts, prosecutor and public defender offices, probation departments, and other justice agencies. These include administrative law organizations, city and county governments, and bar associations. Journal Technologies' products help these organizations manage cases and information electronically, connect with other justice partners, and offer electronic services to the public, such as e-filing and online payment for traffic citations and fees. These products are licensed or subscribed to in approximately 37 states and internationally. Daily Journal's U.S. operations are primarily based in California and Utah. Internationally, Journal Technologies is involved in four software installation projects in Australia and has operated a wholly-owned subsidiary, Journal Technologies (Canada), Inc., in British Columbia, Canada, since August 2022. Within its Traditional Business, Daily Journal publishes 10 general circulation newspapers. These newspapers, in addition to general news, each have a specific area of in-depth focus. The publications are based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Santa Ana, San Diego, and Riverside, California, as well as Phoenix, Arizona.
