CoreCivic is a diversified government solutions company that addresses government challenges through three segments: CoreCivic Safety, CoreCivic Community, and CoreCivic Properties. The company provides corrections and detention management, operates residential reentry centers, and offers government real estate solutions. CoreCivic has been a government partner for over 40 years. It is the nation's largest owner of partnership correctional, detention, and residential reentry facilities and one of the largest operators of such facilities in the United States. As of December 31, 2025, CoreCivic Safety operated 44 correctional and detention facilities, 40 of which were owned or controlled via a long-term lease, with a total design capacity of approximately 68,000 beds. CoreCivic Community owned and operated 20 residential reentry centers, which were owned or controlled via a long-term lease, with a total design capacity of approximately 4,000 beds. Additionally, CoreCivic Properties owned five properties with a total design capacity of approximately 8,000 beds. Beyond residential services, the facilities offer rehabilitation and educational programs such as basic education, faith-based services, life skills and employment training, and substance abuse treatment. These programs aim to reduce recidivism and prepare individuals for reentry into society. CoreCivic also provides or makes available health care (including medical, dental, and mental health services), food services, and work and recreational programs. CoreCivic is a Maryland corporation formed in 1983.
