Cross Timbers Royalty Trust

Cross Timbers Royalty Trust is an express trust established under Texas law on February 12, 1991. The Trust was created by predecessors of XTO Energy Inc. (formerly Cross Timbers Oil Company), who conveyed defined net profits interests to the Trust. The current trustee is Argent Trust Company, a Tennessee chartered trust company, which was appointed effective December 30, 2022, succeeding Simmons Bank. The Trust's business involves holding and distributing income from these defined net profits interests. Specifically, on February 12, 1991, XTO Energy's predecessors conveyed two types of interests: 1. A 90% defined net profits interest carved out of substantially all royalty and overriding royalty interests they owned in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. 2. A 75% defined net profits interest carved out of specific working interests they owned in the states of Texas and Oklahoma.
