Compass, Inc., doing business as Compass International Holdings, is a global real estate services company based in New York City. The company was incorporated in Delaware on October 4, 2012. On January 9, 2026, Compass completed its acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate Inc., which now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. In January 2025, Compass acquired a company holding the exclusive, worldwide rights to operate, franchise, and license the Christie's International Real Estate brand. Following the Anywhere Merger, Compass operates in every major U.S. city and approximately 120 countries and territories, managing a portfolio of recognized brands. As of December 31, 2025, prior to the Anywhere Merger, Compass served 39 states and Washington D.C. with over 37,000 real estate professionals in its owned-brokerage business, primarily under the Compass brand. Additionally, it had over 100 franchises in over 50 countries and territories under the Christie's International Real Estate brand. After the Anywhere Merger, Compass's owned-brokerage business primarily operates under the Coldwell Banker, Compass, Corcoran, Sotheby's International Realty, and @properties brands. Its franchise business primarily operates under the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Century 21, Christie's International Real Estate, Coldwell Banker, Coldwell Banker Commercial, Corcoran, ERA, and Sotheby's International Realty brands. On a combined basis, following the Anywhere Merger, Compass serves a global network of more than 340,000 real estate professionals across both its owned-brokerage and franchise businesses.
