Cell Source, Inc.

CLCS·OTC·Life Sciences·CIK 0001569340

We are a cell therapy company focused on immunotherapy. Our business involves the development of proprietary immune system management technology, referred to as "Cell Source technology." This technology is licensed from Yeda Research & Development Company Limited ("Yeda"), the commercial arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science ("Weizmann Institute") in Israel. Our current research and development efforts are primarily conducted at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center ("MD Anderson") in Houston, Texas. The Cell Source technology aims to address a fundamental challenge in human immunology: how to adjust the immune response to tolerate specific desirable foreign cells while continuing to attack all other undesirable targets. Many potentially life-saving treatments are currently limited by a patient's immune system rejecting them. For instance, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), such as bone marrow transplantation, is a treatment for blood cell cancer. However, most patients lack a matched family donor. While matched unrelated donors and cord blood offer alternatives, haploidentical stem cell transplants (from partially mismatched family members) are increasingly used. This procedure carries risks due to potential conflicts between the host and donor immune systems, and viral infections can occur after HSCT while the new immune system rebuilds itself. Currently, rejection is partially managed with aggressive immune suppression treatments, which leave patients vulnerable. The Cell Source technology's advantage is its ability to induce sustained tolerance of transplanted cells or organs by the recipient's immune system, requiring only mild immune suppression and avoiding common transplant-related complications. This process, known scientifically as chimerism, allows the recipient's immune system to tolerate the co-existence of genetically different donor and host cells.
