CIB Marine Bancshares is a one-bank holding company incorporated in Wisconsin in 1999, with its principal executive offices in Waukesha, Wisconsin. As of December 31, 2011, CIB Marine owned and operated CIBM Bank, a commercial banking organization. CIBM Bank provides a full range of traditional banking services, including various loan products such as commercial loans, commercial real estate loans, construction and development loans, residential real estate loans, consumer loans, and commercial and standby letters of credit. The bank also accepts demand, savings, and time deposits, offers commercial paper and repurchase agreements, and provides other banking services.
At December 31, 2011, CIB Marine and CIBM Bank served the central Illinois, greater Milwaukee, and greater Indianapolis geographic markets. The Arizona branch was closed during 2011, but loans originated by that branch continue to be serviced by CIB Marine. CIBM Bank operated 13 banking facilities with total assets of $500.2 million, loans of $356.8 million, and total deposits of $431.1 million as of December 31, 2011. The Commercial Segments, which include commercial lending, commercial real estate, and construction and development, constituted approximately 80% of the total loan balance at that date. Services are delivered in person at CIBM Bank's offices and electronically through its internet banking services.
CIB Marine also has one wholly-owned nonbanking subsidiary, CIB Marine Capital, LLC, which ceased operations in 2003 and is in the process of winding down. CIB Marine Capital, established in April 2001, previously provided leveraged financing, including mezzanine loans to commercial customers, typically with insufficient collateral coverage for a senior debt position. A former nonbank subsidiary, CIB Construction, LLC, was dissolved in December 2011.
