BLACKROCK MUNICIPAL INCOME TRUST II (BLE) is a closed-end fixed income mutual fund, launched and managed by BlackRock, Inc. and its subsidiary BlackRock Advisors, LLC. Incorporated on July 30, 2002, and domiciled in the United States, the Trust's primary investment objective is to provide current income that is exempt from regular U.S. federal income tax. The Trust aims to achieve this objective by primarily investing in municipal bonds that are exempt from federal income taxes, though the interest may be subject to the federal alternative minimum tax. Under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its assets are invested in municipal bonds that are considered investment-grade quality at the time of investment. The Trust may invest in these securities directly or synthetically through the use of derivatives. Its investment sectors include transportation, utilities, health, state, education, corporate, tobacco, and housing. With a market capitalization of approximately $503 million, BLE offers investors tax-advantaged income through a diversified portfolio of high-quality municipal securities traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
