Bioxytran's platform technologies utilize Galectin inhibitors to combat viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. This technology is based on the work of the company's founder, David Platt, PhD, who identified and named the Human Galectin-3 protein. Galectin inhibitors function by blocking galectins from binding to carbohydrate structures, which helps to calm the body's overactive inflammatory response in chronic diseases. These inhibitors can also neutralize the spike proteins of various viruses, thereby reducing their ability to replicate.
