BlackRock Capital Allocation Term Trust (BCAT) is a diversified, closed-end management investment company that aims to provide total return and income through current income, current gains, and long-term capital appreciation. The Trust invests in a portfolio of both equity and debt securities, with the flexibility to emphasize either at any given time. BCAT also employs an option writing (selling) strategy to generate current gains from options premiums and enhance risk-adjusted returns. Launched in September 2020, BCAT operates as a term trust with a 12-year limited term, which is subject to extension and includes a contingent feature to convert to a perpetual trust.
