Aytu BioPharma, Inc. is a pharmaceutical company that develops innovative medicines for complex central nervous system diseases. The company was originally incorporated as Rosewind Corporation on August 9, 2002, in Colorado, and re-incorporated as Aytu BioScience, Inc. in Delaware on June 8, 2015. In March 2021, the company changed its name to Aytu BioPharma, Inc. Its common stock trades on the Nasdaq Capital Market LLC under the ticker symbol "AYTU." Aytu BioPharma focuses on in-licensing, acquiring, developing, and commercializing novel prescription therapeutics. In June 2025, the company entered into an Exclusive Commercialization Agreement with Fabre-Kramer Holdings, Inc. to commercialize EXXUA (gepirone) extended-release tablets in the United States. EXXUA is a new chemical entity and a selective serotonin 5HT1a receptor agonist approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. EXXUA has been studied in over 5,000 patients and competes in the over $22 billion United States prescription MDD market. In 2024, over 340 million antidepressant prescriptions were written in the United States. The company believes EXXUA is the only antidepressant acting on serotonin receptors that does not carry a label warning about the risk of sexual dysfunction.
