We are a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing new, orally administered antiviral drugs for serious viral diseases. Our expertise is in antiviral drug development, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and virology. Our current product pipeline includes bemnifosbuvir and ruzasvir, a regimen we believe could improve the standard of care for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. We also have AT-587, which we believe could be the first direct-acting antiviral for chronic hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection, especially for immunocompromised patients. Our HCV development program aims to offer bemnifosbuvir and ruzasvir as a distinct pan-genotypic, protease inhibitor-free, short-duration treatment for HCV-infected patients, if successfully developed and approved. We believe a new, easily prescribable treatment regimen would benefit the current HCV population, which is mainly young (20-49 years old) and non-cirrhotic, and would significantly improve the current standard of care. Currently, there are no short-course (8-week) nucleotide inhibitor-based, pan-genotypic HCV treatment regimens. Clinical and nonclinical studies, including a global Phase 2 clinical trial with 275 HCV-infected patients, have shown that bemnifosbuvir and ruzasvir have high potency and are well tolerated. These studies also indicate a low risk for drug-drug interactions with many common medications, including proton pump inhibitors, and can be taken with or without food. We believe this profile would significantly improve the current standard of care, if approved. Our global HCV Phase 3 program includes two randomized, open-label studies: C-BEYOND, with clinical trial sites in the US and Canada, and C-FORWARD, with sites in countries outside North America.
