AngioDynamics is a diversified medical technology company that designs, manufactures, and sells products and technologies to aid clinicians in treating patients with cardiovascular disease and cancer diagnoses. The company was founded in Queensbury, N.Y., U.S., in 1988 and began manufacturing and shipping products in the early 1990s. Its headquarters are in Latham, N.Y., with manufacturing primarily in Queensbury. Initially focused on interventional radiology products, AngioDynamics became a producer of diagnostic catheters for non-coronary angiography and thrombolytic delivery systems. Over the years, the company expanded through acquisitions. These included RITA Medical Systems in January 2007, Oncobionic in May 2008, the assets of Diomed in June 2008, Vortex Medical, Inc. in October 2012, the assets of Microsulis Medical Limited in January 2013, and Clinical Devices in August 2013. These acquisitions added product lines such as ablation and NanoKnife systems, vascular access products, angiographic products and accessories, dialysis products, drainage products, thrombolytic products, embolization products, and venous products. In September 2018, AngioDynamics acquired RadiaDyne, which included endorectal and vaginal balloons. On October 2, 2019, the company acquired Eximo Medical, Ltd., and its proprietary 355nm laser atherectomy technology (now called Auryon), which treats Peripheral Artery Disease. On December 17, 2019, it acquired the C3 Wave tip location asset from Medical Components Inc. On July 27, 2021, AngioDynamics acquired the Camaro Support Catheter asset from QX Medical, LLC. The company sold its Fluid Management business (acquired in May 2012 from Navilyst Medical) in May 2019 to Medline Industries, Inc., and the BioSentry product line (acquired in August 2018 from Surgical Specialties, LLC) in June 2023 to Merit Medical Systems, Inc.
