AutoNation, Inc., through its subsidiaries, is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States. As of December 31, 2025, the company owned and operated 323 new vehicle franchises from 245 stores located predominantly in major metropolitan markets in the Sunbelt region of the United States. These stores sell 30 different new vehicle brands. The core new vehicle brands, representing approximately 89% of new vehicles sold in 2025, are manufactured by Toyota (including Lexus), Honda, Ford, General Motors, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Volkswagen (including Audi and Porsche). As of December 31, 2025, AutoNation also owned and operated 52 AutoNation-branded collision centers, 26 AutoNation USA used vehicle stores, 4 AutoNation-branded automotive auction operations, 3 parts distribution centers, a mobile automotive repair and maintenance business, and an auto finance company. The company offers a diversified range of automotive products and services, including new vehicles, used vehicles, parts and service (also known as After-Sales), which includes automotive repair and maintenance services, wholesale parts, and collision businesses, and automotive finance and insurance products (also known as Customer Financial Services), which include vehicle service and other protection products, as well as arranging financing for vehicle purchases through third-party finance sources. AutoNation also offers indirect financing through its captive auto finance company on vehicles it sells. As of December 31, 2025, the company had four reportable segments: Domestic, Import, Premium Luxury, and AutoNation Finance.
