Assured Guaranty Ltd. is a Bermuda-based holding company that offers credit protection products and participates in asset management. Through its wholly-owned operating subsidiaries, the company provides financial guaranty insurance to U.S. and non-U.S. public finance (including infrastructure) and structured finance markets. This insurance, including nonpayment insurance, protects holders of debt instruments and other monetary obligations from defaults in scheduled payments. If an obligor defaults on a scheduled payment, such as principal or interest, Assured Guaranty is required to pay the shortfall under its unconditional and irrevocable financial guaranty, but generally not on an accelerated basis. The company markets its financial guaranty insurance directly to issuers, underwriters, and investors of public finance and structured finance securities. Assured Guaranty primarily guarantees obligations issued in the U.S. and the United Kingdom, and also in other countries and regions, including Western Europe and Australia. The company also provides specialty insurance and reinsurance for transactions with risk profiles similar to its structured finance exposures. Its asset management business involves an ownership interest in Sound Point Capital Management, LP and certain investment management affiliates. On January 21, 2026, the company acquired Warwick Company (UK) Limited, the 100% indirect owner of Assured Life Reinsurance Ltd., for $158 million, subject to post-closing adjustments.
