We are a biotechnology company focused on developing early and late-stage innovative treatments for critical conditions and diseases. Our product candidates include istaroxime, a Phase 2 candidate designed to inhibit sodium-potassium ATPase and activate sarco endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ -ATPase 2a (SERCA2a) for acute heart failure and/or associated cardiogenic shock. We also have preclinical SERCA2a activators for heart failure, rostafuroxin for hypertension in patients with a specific genetic profile, and a preclinical atypical protein kinase C iota (aPKCi) inhibitor (topical and oral formulations) for potential use in rare and broad oncology indications. We also operate a licensing business model with existing partnership out-licenses. In January 2025, we initiated a new corporate strategy to become a revenue-generating biotech company by acquiring small companies with FDA-approved products, while continuing to advance our cardiovascular and oncology development pipeline. We aim to acquire strategic subsidiaries with FDA-approved products from small biotech companies that may struggle with commercialization. Our management team has commercialization expertise in both large pharmaceutical and small biotech companies across multiple therapeutic areas. We plan to use equity to acquire subsidiaries, with the number of deals depending on the valuation and growth potential of target companies. Our lead product candidate, istaroxime, is a first-in-class, dual-mechanism agent being developed to increase blood pressure and improve cardiac function in patients with cardiogenic shock, and to improve cardiac function and reverse hypotension and hypoperfusion in patients with acute heart failure that progresses to cardiogenic shock.
