Sempra

Sempra is a holding company primarily focused on regulated utilities in California and Texas. The company invests in and operates electric and gas utilities and other energy infrastructure to provide energy services. Sempra was established in 1998 through the merger of Enova Corporation and Pacific Enterprises, the holding companies for its California utilities: SDG&E, operational since 1881, and SoCalGas, operational since 1867. Sempra has expanded its regulated utility presence in Texas through an 80.25% interest in Oncor and a 50% interest in Sharyland Utilities. Sempra Infrastructure holds investments in the U.S. and Mexico, concentrating on LNG, energy networks, and low carbon solutions. The company's business activities are organized into three reportable segments: Sempra California, Sempra Texas Utilities, and Sempra Infrastructure. SDG&E, part of Sempra California, is a regulated public utility providing electric services to approximately 3.6 million people and natural gas services to approximately 3.3 million people within an approximate 4,100 square mile service territory in Southern California, covering San Diego County and an adjacent part of Orange County, as of December 31, 2025.
