SOX·NASDAQ·Technology·CIK 0001408970

PHLX Semiconductor Sector Index (tracked by SOX ETF) is a modified market capitalization-weighted index designed to measure the performance of the 30 largest U.S.-listed semiconductor companies. These companies are primarily involved in the design, distribution, manufacture, and sale of semiconductors and related production technology equipment. The index was launched on December 1, 1993, by the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, which is now owned by Nasdaq. Security types eligible for inclusion generally include common stocks, ordinary shares, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), shares of beneficial interest, and limited partnership interests. To be considered, a security must be listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market, the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE American, or the CBOE Exchange. There are no specific geographic requirements for inclusion, though ADRs of non-U.S. companies may be included at less than their full global market capitalization. Each security must have a minimum market capitalization of $100 million and be classified under the Semiconductors Subsector or Production Technology Equipment Subsector according to the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB). The index is reconstituted annually in September and rebalanced quarterly in March, June, September, and December. The SOX Index serves as a key benchmark for the semiconductor industry, providing insights into the health of a sector critical to global technology supply chains.
