Divarasib Cuts Death Risk 44% vs Standard KRAS Drugs in Phase III Lung Cancer Trial
RHHBY sits 53% above its 52-week low of $40.07.
Summary
Genentech's divarasib beat the current standard of care head-to-head in previously treated KRAS G12C-mutated NSCLC. In the Phase III Krascendo 1 study, divarasib monotherapy lowered the risk of death by 44% versus sotorasib or adagrasib (OS HR 0.56, p=0.0005), with median overall survival of 17.7 months against 12.0 months. Progression-free survival was 9.8 months versus 5.7 months (HR 0.58), and confirmed response rate nearly doubled at 58% versus 32%. Safety was cleaner too: 4.8% discontinued for treatment-related adverse events versus 11.7%, and serious TRAEs ran roughly half the control rate despite patients staying on treatment more than twice as long. The data were presented at ESMO 2026 and published simultaneously in the New England Journal of Medicine, and Genentech says it is working with health authorities on filings. This is the strongest pipeline readout in a busy stretch for Roche, following the October 23 sefaxersen Phase III win in IgA nephropathy and the October 16 Enspryng approval in thyroid eye disease. Divarasib already holds Breakthrough Therapy and Orphan Drug designations; a US regulatory decision would be the next hard milestone.
