NovoCure Ltd is a global oncology company that utilizes a proprietary platform technology called Tumor Treating Fields ("TTFields"). This technology uses electric fields to physically kill cancer cells and is delivered via a medical device. The company's primary focus areas include increasing the commercial use of its TTFields therapy devices: Optune Gio®, Optune Lua®, and Optune Pax®. NovoCure also aims to secure regulatory approvals for TTFields therapy devices in new indications, such as brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer ("NSCLC"), and to further clinical and product development programs designed to improve overall survival in aggressive cancers. Optune Gio is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") for adult patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma ("GBM") when used with temozolomide, and for adult patients with GBM after confirmed recurrence following chemotherapy as a standalone treatment. Optune Gio also holds a CE certificate for GBM treatment in the European Union ("EU"), and has approval or local registration in the United Kingdom ("UK"), Japan, Canada, and other countries. Optune Lua is FDA-approved for adult patients with metastatic NSCLC, used concurrently with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors or docetaxel after progression on or following a platinum-based regimen. It also has a CE certificate for marketing in the EU for metastatic NSCLC under the same conditions. In Japan, Optune Lua received regulatory approval for adult patients with unresectable advanced/recurrent NSCLC, concurrent with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors after progression on or following a platinum-based regimen. Additionally, Optune Lua is FDA-approved under the Humanitarian Device Exemption ("HDE") for adult patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma or pleural mesothelioma ("MPM") when used with standard chemotherapies.
