It operates across a portfolio of eight consumer-driven product platforms. The Kraft Heinz Company was formed on July 2, 2015, through the merger of Kraft Foods Group, Inc. and H.J. Heinz Holding Corporation. H. J. Heinz Company subsequently changed its name to Kraft Heinz Foods Company. On September 2, 2025, the company announced its intention to separate into two independent publicly traded companies via a tax-free spin-off. However, on February 11, 2026, the Kraft Heinz Board of Directors decided to pause work related to this Separation. The company operates on a 52- or 53-week fiscal year, ending on the last Saturday in December each calendar year.
