Jaguar Health, Inc., along with its family company Napo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., develops new prescription drugs derived from plants for people with complex gastrointestinal (GI) diseases. Jaguar family companies Napo and Napo Therapeutics, S.p.A., an Italian corporation established in Milan, Italy in 2021, are working to increase global access to crofelemer and develop new treatments for rare GI conditions. Jaguar Animal Health is a tradename of Jaguar. Magdalena Biosciences, a joint venture between Jaguar and Filament Health Corp., focuses on developing new plant-derived prescription medicines for mental health conditions. Jaguar was founded in San Francisco, California, as a Delaware corporation on June 6, 2013. Initially, the company aimed to develop and commercialize prescription and non-prescription products for companion animals. On July 31, 2017, Jaguar completed a merger with Napo. Following this merger, Jaguar changed its name from "Jaguar Animal Health, Inc." to "Jaguar Health, Inc." Napo now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Jaguar, concentrating on human health, including the continued development of crofelemer and the commercialization of Mytesi.
