Jack in the Box Inc. is a restaurant company that operates and franchises two quick-service restaurant chains: Jack in the Box and Del Taco. The company was founded and is headquartered in San Diego, California. Jack in the Box is one of the nation's largest hamburger chains, with 2,136 restaurants across 22 states. Del Taco is one of the nation's largest Mexican-American quick-service restaurant chains, with 576 restaurants across 18 states. In April 2025, the company announced a plan to explore strategic alternatives for the Del Taco brand, including a possible divestiture. On October 15, 2025, the company entered into a Stock Purchase Agreement to sell all outstanding equity interests of Del Taco Holdings Inc., which owns and operates the Del Taco restaurant operations, to Yadav Enterprises, Inc. for $115 million in cash, subject to adjustments. Jack in the Box restaurants offer a broad selection of products, including classic burgers like the Jumbo Jack and innovative lines such as the Buttery Jack and Smash Jack burgers. They also provide breakfast sandwiches with freshly cracked eggs, tacos, curly fries, egg rolls, specialty sandwiches, and real ice cream shakes. Jack in the Box allows guests to customize meals and order any menu item at any time, serving five day parts: breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and late night.
