INmune Bio is a clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops and sells product candidates designed to reprogram the innate immune system. The company focuses on diseases where chronic inflammation and immune dysfunction are key drivers. Its main focus is treating Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB), a severe pediatric orphan disease, using CORDStrom™. CORDStrom is a proprietary platform derived from pooled human umbilical cord mesenchymal stromal cells. RDEB is caused by mutations in the COL7A1 gene, leading to skin blistering, chronic non-healing wounds, difficulty swallowing, and failure to thrive. The chronic inflammation in RDEB often progresses to fatal squamous cell carcinoma. Currently, there are no approved systemic treatments for RDEB; existing approved products are topical and do not address the systemic issues that CORDStrom targets. CORDStrom has completed a pivotal, blinded, randomized cross-over trial. Beyond RDEB, the company is advancing two other clinical-stage platforms. XPro1595 (XPro) is a protein therapeutic that targets neuroinflammation by neutralizing soluble TNF. XPro has completed Phase I and Phase II clinical trials for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) in the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and Canada. INKmune™ is a natural killer (NK) cell-priming platform designed to use a patient's own immune system to eliminate cancer cells. The INKmune program is nearing completion of an open-label Phase II trial for metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
