IMAX·NYSE·Trade & Services·CIK 0000921582

IMAX Corporation is a premier global technology platform for entertainment and events. The company, incorporated in 1967, offers a unique end-to-end solution to create immersive content experiences through its proprietary software, auditorium architecture, patented intellectual property, and specialized equipment. As of December 31, 2025, IMAX indirectly owned 71.57% of IMAX China Holding, Inc., a consolidated subsidiary whose shares trade on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. IMAX's global content portfolio includes blockbuster films from Hollywood and local language film industries worldwide, original and acquired IMAX Documentaries, and IMAX events and experiences in emerging verticals like music, gaming, and sports. The company's business principally involves the digital remastering of films and other content into the IMAX format for distribution across its network (IMAX Film Remastering) and the sale or lease of premium IMAX theater systems (IMAX Systems). These systems are based on proprietary and patented image, audio, and other technology. Customers for IMAX Systems are primarily exhibitors operating commercial multiplex theaters, and to a lesser extent, institutional locations such as museums, science centers, and destination entertainment sites. IMAX does not own the locations in its network, except for one, and is not an exhibitor. Instead, it sells or leases IMAX Systems to exhibitors, along with licenses to use its trademarks and ongoing maintenance services, for which exhibitors make annual payments. IMAX operates the largest global premium format network, which is more than double the size of its nearest competitor.
