First Savings Financial Group, Inc.

First Savings Financial Group is a bank holding company whose principal business is the ownership of First Savings Bank. The Group itself does not own or lease property, instead utilizing the premises and equipment of First Savings Bank under an expense allocation agreement. First Savings Bank operates as a community-oriented financial institution, providing traditional financial services to consumers and businesses. The Bank attracts deposits from the general public and uses these funds to originate various loans, primarily residential and commercial mortgage loans. It also originates commercial business loans, residential and commercial construction loans, multi-family loans, land and land development loans, and consumer loans. Lending and deposit activities are primarily conducted with individuals and small businesses within its primary market area. First Savings Bank converted from a federally-chartered savings bank to an Indiana-chartered commercial bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System on December 19, 2014. Concurrently, First Savings Financial Group converted to a bank holding company and elected financial holding company status on December 19, 2014. On September 24, 2025, First Savings Financial Group entered into a definitive merger agreement with First Merchants Corporation.
