Angel Oak Financial Strategies Income Term Trust (FINS) is a diversified closed-end management investment company headquartered in Atlanta, GA. The fund's primary objective is to seek current income, with a secondary objective of total return. FINS employs a banking sector debt-centric strategy, which has historically shown low correlations to other market segments.
The fund predominantly invests in debt issued by U.S. financial institutions, including subordinated, unrated, senior, and high-yield securities. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets are invested in securities of U.S. and non-U.S. financial institutions, which can include banks, thrifts, finance companies, business development companies (BDCs) that invest in loans, commercial mortgage and residential mortgage real estate investment trusts, brokerage and advisory firms, insurance companies, and financial holding companies. At least 50% of the portfolio is publicly rated investment grade or, if unrated, judged to be of investment grade quality by Angel Oak. FINS also pursues selective opportunities in financial sector preferred and common equity. Angel Oak Capital Advisors, LLC serves as the investment adviser to the fund.
