Chevron Corporation, a Delaware corporation, manages its investments in subsidiaries and affiliates and provides administrative, financial, management, and technology support to its U.S. and international subsidiaries, which are involved in integrated energy and chemicals operations. The company's Upstream operations primarily involve exploring for, developing, producing, and transporting crude oil and natural gas. This segment also includes the processing, liquefaction, transportation, and regasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG), transporting crude oil through major international oil export pipelines, transporting, storing, and marketing natural gas, carbon capture and storage, and operating a gas-to-liquids plant. Chevron's Downstream operations primarily consist of refining crude oil into petroleum products, marketing crude oil, refined products, and lubricants, and manufacturing and marketing renewable fuels. This segment also handles the transportation of crude oil and refined products via pipeline, marine vessel, motor equipment, and rail car, as well as the manufacturing and marketing of commodity petrochemicals, plastics for industrial uses, and fuel and lubricant additives.
