The company operates manufacturing complexes in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, supported by an extensive storage, transportation, and distribution network in North America and global logistics capabilities. Its principal customers include cooperatives, retailers, independent fertilizer distributors, traders, wholesalers, and industrial users. The core product is anhydrous ammonia (ammonia), which is composed of 82% nitrogen and 18% hydrogen. Products derived from ammonia that are primarily used as nitrogen fertilizers include granular urea, urea ammonium nitrate solution (UAN), and ammonium nitrate (AN). AN is also widely used by the commercial explosives industry as an explosive component. Other ammonia-derived products sold mainly to industrial customers include diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), urea liquor, nitric acid, and aqua ammonia. In July 2025, the company completed a decarbonization project at its Donaldsonville, Louisiana, complex to produce low-carbon ammonia. It is also undertaking additional decarbonization projects within its existing network and building a new low-carbon ammonia plant at its Blue Point complex.
