Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is a global medical technology company that develops, manufactures, and sells a wide range of medical supplies, devices, laboratory equipment, and diagnostic products. These products are used by healthcare institutions, physicians, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, the pharmaceutical industry, and the general public. BD's solutions aim to improve medication management and patient safety, support infection prevention, equip surgical and interventional procedures, improve drug delivery, aid anesthesiology care, enhance the diagnosis of infectious diseases and cancers, and advance cellular research and applications. As of September 30, 2025, BD operated through three worldwide business segments: BD Medical, BD Life Sciences, and BD Interventional. The Life Sciences segment will remain a critical part of BD until the separation and combination of its Biosciences and Diagnostic Solutions business with Waters Corporation is completed. BD Medical produces a broad array of medical technologies and devices used to improve healthcare delivery in various settings. BD was incorporated in New Jersey in November 1906, succeeding a New York business started in 1897.
