Its customers include financial institutions, retailers, government agencies, mints, jewelers, and other commercial operations worldwide. The company's global network serves customers in more than 100 countries. Brink's has controlling ownership interests in companies in 51 countries and agency relationships with companies in additional countries. It employs approximately 65,400 people and operates approximately 1,200 facilities and 15,900 vehicles. The business is managed through four segments: North America, which includes operations in the U.S. and Canada, including the Brink's Global Services ("BGS") line of business; Latin America, covering operations in Latin American countries where Brink's has an ownership interest, including the BGS line of business; Europe, predominantly operations in European countries that primarily provide services outside of the BGS line of business; and Rest of World, which includes operations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. This segment also encompasses total operations in European countries that primarily provide BGS services and BGS activity in Latin American countries where Brink's does not have an ownership interest. Brink's was founded in 1859 and The Brink's Company was incorporated in 1930 in Delaware, succeeding to the business of a Virginia corporation in 1986 and renamed in 2003. Its headquarters are in Richmond, Virginia.
