Emmaus Life Sciences, Inc. is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, marketing, and selling innovative treatments, primarily for rare and orphan diseases. The company's sole product is Endari® (prescription grade L-glutamine oral powder). Endari® is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reduce acute complications of sickle cell disease (SCD) in adult and pediatric patients aged five years and older. Endari® is approved for marketing in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E), Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. An application for marketing authorization is pending in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), where FDA approval can be referenced for named-patient access. In January 2025, Endari® received market exclusivity in the KSA through the KSA's unified purchasing system, covering all KSA government institutions, including hospitals under the Ministry of Health, Military Hospitals, the National Guard, the Security Forces, and King Faisal Specialty Hospitals and Research Centers. In the U.S., Endari® is sold through nonexclusive distributors. In the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, it is sold through exclusive arrangements with local distributors. In December 2025, the company entered into a License and Exclusive Distribution Agreement with NeoImmuneTech, Inc. (NIT), granting NIT an exclusive license to market, sell, and distribute Endari® and any generic equivalents for sickle cell disease in the U.S., its territories and possessions, and Canada. This agreement includes an upfront cash payment, a double-digit percentage royalty on NIT's sales, and a double-digit percentage of any NIT sublicenses.
